Amidst the fast-paced business world, it's easy to get caught up in the daily routine. It's easy to lose sight of the outside world and the importance of human connection and compassion. Businesses must consider what kind of mark they wish to leave on the world.
Contract Services Group (CSG) is committed to giving back to the communities we operate in. Our gratitude for being part of these communities drives our commitment to giving back. Our desire to give back is rooted in our commitment to Organizational Stewardship.
Practicing organizational stewardship means extending your company vision beyond the parameters of your organization. This is a value CSG adopted from Dr. Jay Barbuto, a leadership professor at Cal State University Fullerton. Dr. Barbuto presented the idea of Organizational Stewardship at CSG's leadership meeting last year.
CSG Gives Back
Giving back and leaving a lasting legacy has been present in the culture of our company since its inception. Over the years CSG has consistently sought out ways to leave a positive impact on the world. Whether it is through donations, volunteer work, or community events CSG is driven to make a difference.
As an established janitorial and hospitality service provider, CSG pursues volunteer opportunities where we can donate our professional skillset and expertise. By engaging in such events we are able to donate our services through community work.
Over the years the CSG team has volunteered our time with Second Harvest Food Bank Orange County, United Across Borders Foundation. Additionally, we have donated to local charities such as Toys for Tots, the La Habra K9, and the Sierra Kids Foundation. These events have left us with an immense sense of fulfillment driven by respect, integrity, and compassion
Dog Beach Clean-Up Community Outreach Event
Engaging with the local community during these events has fulfilled our company's mission to leave a legacy greater than our business. This has driven us to launch an official Organizational Stewardship program. This program encourages our team as a whole to volunteer at two community events throughout the year.
The first Organizational Stewardship event was a community beach clean-up in partnership with the Preservation Society of Huntington Beach. CSG Vice President, Lynn Presley, has an innate passion for public service and coordinated this event for the CSG Team.
On Friday, July 14th, the CSG took a step back from our normal routines and headed to Huntington Beach. The CSG team put on their gloves, grabbed their trash bags, and donated their time to cleaning up trash along the mile-and-a-half stretch of Dog Beach.
While we picked up trash we received great compliments and thank yous from the beachgoers. In the end, we presented the Preservation Society with a check to fund their desire to keep the sand and water clean and safe for the beachgoers and their four-legged companions
Making a Difference
This community outreach event allowed our team to take a moment and give back to the communities we serve. Not only were we able to clean up the beautiful; beach, but we also instilled a sense of responsibility in our team. This was such a positive event for our company and we look forward to continuing to get involved in the community.
Although there are hundreds of miles of beach along the California Coast, CSG truly felt like we were making a positive difference at Dog Beach. This event was a wonderful opportunity to share our message and desire to give back.
