September is here and it's time to celebrate the heart of the house!
International Housekeeping Week is celebrated the week of September 8-14. This is an annual celebration to recognize the hard work of hotel custodial workers.
The Importance of Housekeeping
Everyone has stayed at a hotel and interacted with housekeepers, but very few are aware of what it takes to do that job. The job involves long hours and constantly changing conditions. With new guests and events happening daily, housekeepers must be ready for any task.
Housekeepers are essential to hotel operations. However, housekeepers often work behind the scenes and may not receive the recognition or appreciation they deserve. International Housekeeping Week celebrates the often thankless work of housekeepers by showing appreciation for their outstanding performances/
Recognizing the Hard Work
At CSG, our team members are our biggest asset. We understand and value our housekeeping staff. Their commitment to making a difference at hotels is integral to our success. With our team spread throughout different properties it is important to make sure they all feel part of the team.
We are proud to celebrate International Housekeeping Week by acknowledging the great work of our hotel team members. This week allows us to express gratitude and foster a positive work environment. We encourage everyone to take a moment to thank the unsung heroes of the hotel industry.
Celebrating at CSG
Throughout the week CSG will celebrate the housekeepers at all our hotel properties. Our leadership team will be hosting various events to show our appreciation.
Our celebrations begin with Years of Service award ceremonies. CSG team member will get a chance to celebrate their work anniversaries of 1 year or more. Team members celebrating anniversaries of 1,3,5, and 10 years will also receive a corresponding pin. This year we have many team members celebrating over 20 years with CSG!
We also encourage our managers to elevate this event with food or treats. These gatherings allow team members to relax and bond as a team. Fostering a positive work environment through these events increases teamwork and job satisfaction.
Our partners also celebrate International Housekeeping Week throughout their whole property. In the past properties have hosted craft events and raffles. Each year this event is a great way to celebrate individual and collective successes.
How You Can Celebrate

Everyone can participate in International Housekeeping Week by showing appreciation to the housekeepers in their lives. Here are a few ways to celebrate:
