The CSG Story
Est. 1973
For 50 continuous years, Contract Services Group (CSG) has provided high-quality commercial cleaning and related services to the industry.
From our inception in 1973 with only 2 clients, we have progressed to the best-in-class facilities services provider we are today.
After seven years as a successful salesman of janitorial supplies, John Pearce founded Pearce Building Maintenance Company.
Beta tested bonnet system of programmed carpet care for a major pad manufacturer.
The company increases sales every year and changes its name to Pearce Building Services to more accurately describe the company’s operations.
Pearce purchases Superior Window Cleaners. Superior had been a Pearce sub contractor prior to that date. Window cleaning operations grow rapidly.
Pearce begins providing services to the hospitality industry and is an Opening Team Partner for Ritz Carlton Hotel Company.
We hire world expert in stone and metal restoration to gain knowledge in these specialty services. Pearce restores marble walls on a landmark building.
The retained management of Superior left Pearce. Pearce sold its window cleaning operations.
Pearce becomes one of the first service contractors in the United States to utilize backpack vacuums. Production rates increase dramatically.
Pearce re-entered the window cleaning industry and obtained its Scaffold Inspection Testing certification from Cal/OSHA.
First designed window cleaning system installed on a major medical center.
Eric Pearce testifies before Cal/OSHA Standards Board for window cleaning safety issues. Some of our recommendations have become part of Cal/OSHA’s Title 8.
Company locates its corporate offices in Brea, California.
Contract Services Group (CSG) is formed to be a provider of a full range of facilities services.
Operations are expanded into Nevada.
Casey Pearce assumes the position of President of CSG; Management commits to Sustainability, Source Reduction, Green Cleaning.
Safety has always been a part of the CSG culture but this commitment was formalized with the formation of a dedicated Safety Committee.
CSG continues to add to our list of environmentally friendly services with the purchase of the Tennant T5 Walk - Behind Floor Scrubber with eco -H20 technology.
CSG is CERTIFIED WITH HONORS to the ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Green Building Criteria.
CSG celebrates 40 years in business with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
CSG becomes an Avendra preferred supplier for night cleaning, maintenance and staffing services, etc.
CSG registers with the Labor Commissioner’s Office in regards to The Property Service Workers Protection Act for all Janitorial Service Providers.
Global Pandemic COVID-19 hits and CSG is forced to temporarily seize operation for 50% of the business during lock down.
CSG rises through uncertainty and continues to quickly grow the business faster than pre-pandemic times and launches official company mobile app.
The company recognizes top leadership and team members in 1st annual CSG Awards Banquet.
CSG celebrates success and half a century (50 years) in business.
